Will I be able to install iOS 15 on my iPhone and iPad? Compatibility list

Apple has already presented iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 on the opening day of WWDC 2021. In addition to counting the main changes and novelties that will reach the devices, one of the most frequent questions that there were among users was related to knowing if their devices were they to be compatible or not. These iPhones will have iOS 15 in September

Although Apple has not officially given dates beyond saying “autumn”, it is presumably that in the month of September iOS 15 will arrive officially for all users and after a few summer months in which they will have been in beta. Finally, the first generation iPhone 6s, 6s Plus and ‘SE’ are not left out of this list as had been rumored. It is striking if we consider that these are devices that were launched 6 years ago and that they will enjoy updates, at least, during their seventh year of life. Although there are functionalities and performance different from the most recent iPhones, those who have these devices will also be able to enjoy many new features.

And what about the iPad and iPadOS 15?

The renewed iPadOS 15 will also arrive in the same dates as iOS 15 and in your case we also find that not all Apple tablets will be compatible. The complete list of devices that can be updated to this version are the following:

IOS 14 and iPadOS 14 will remain

Although the future obviously goes through these renewed versions of software, the truth is that Apple will not forget users. Both those that will receive support with iOS and iPadOS 15 and those that will not, will receive new versions of iOS 14 starting with the 14.7. It is not known exactly what the last version of this generation will finally be and although great news is not expected because they will be integrated into the new ones, the truth is that they will continue to be important to introduce security patches that protect teams, as well as performance improvements.
