iOS 15, iPadOS 15, and macOS Monterey earn an OTP generator for two-factor authentication

The opening keynote of WWDC 2021 has just ended, an event that saw the presentation of all the new Apple operating systems. With iOS 15, iPadOS 15 and macOS Monterey comes a very important novelty in terms of password management.

Two-factor authentication is now an essential security element that allows you to add an additional layer of security on the web. Until now, a third-party application was required to generate the single-use OTP code but finally with iOS 15, iPadOS 15 and macOS Monterey comes an OTP generator integrated into the operating system.

Basically it will be possible to delegate the generation of the security code to the operating system, with the possibility of inserting it automatically during login. Apple has also added a section dedicated to passwords in System Preferences on the Mac, separating it from Keychain. It will also be possible to import passwords from other passwords within the iOS manager, a decidedly smart and integrated solution that will make access to our websites even more secure.
