After the release of iOS 14.6 and iPadOS 14.6, some users have posted on the official Apple forum complaining of excessive battery drain on iPhones and iPads.
The Apple Support Forum is logging more and more posts of users who complain this problem after updating their devices. The messages are for different models, such as iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 12 mini.
I updated my 12 mini from iOS 14.2 to 14.6 a couple of days ago, and now in the morning after checking some messages and reading a couple of news I find myself with the battery down and the back of the phone overheated.
There are so many reports, even if not everyone seems to be affected by this problem and from our tests we have not noticed a greater consumption of the battery after the update to iOS 14.6. It should also be remembered that, after any update, users may notice an above-average consumption because the system re-indexes Spotlight and performs other optimization activities. However, iOS 14.6 was released over a week ago and users keep noticing the problem.
And you, have you noticed something similar?
