Apple is planning to open several Apple Stores around the world to expand its retail presence via brick-and-mortar stores.
As reported by Bloombergdespite the boom in online sales during the pandemic, Apple plans to open more stores in addition to the 511 currently active around the world. Apple’s Senior Vice President of Retail Deirdre O’Brien confirmed these plans at Funke Mediengruppe in Germany:
On our online site people can learn a lot about the products; in a shop they can touch them and get an idea. We intend to create more stores.
The latest Apple Store in chronological order was opened in Italy, in Via del Corso in Rome, and in the coming weeks the second store should open in Berlin. Apple also confirmed its intention to open a chip design center in Munich within the next three years.
