Apple strengthens AirTag’s anti-stalking measures

Since the launch of AirTag, the Cupertino-based company has placed more emphasis on measures designed to prevent stalking and remote control. However, with a new update comes a very important news.

As we all know, if an AirTag that is not ours is moving with us, we will receive a warning notification on our iPhone. However, an audible alarm has also been set up for users who do not have an iPhone. This audible alarm goes into effect after three days of detachment from the pairing iPhone, a period of time that has raised some controversy. The Cupertino company has thus decided to drastically tighten this time interval, introducing a new firmware update of AirTag.

With the new update, the time span is changed to a range between 8 and 24 hours, with random activation within this time frame. The Cupertino company is also working on a specific app for Android systems, designed to send a notification to the user with the same methodologies seen on the iPhone. For the application it will be necessary to wait for the next few months while as regards the update, the rollout has already started. AirTag will automatically update itself as soon as it comes into contact with the owner’s iPhone.
