Apple introduces the SharePlay sharing feature

At WWDC 2021, Apple announced SharePlay, a new feature that will allow streaming content to be shared on FaceTime calls.

The new feature will give the ability to share music, movies and TV shows in real time between users. In fact, it will be possible to share your screen and bring apps into FaceTime calls. In addition to Apple Music and the Apple TV app, other third party services will also be included, which are as follows:

  • Disney +
  • Hulu
  • HBO Max
  • Paramount +
  • Twitch
  • TikTok
  • Pluto TV
  • Master Class
  • The NBA app

At the moment there are big absentees, like Netflix, but the API will be made available to all developers in order to make other apps available in SharePlay. This feature, however, will be present exclusively with iOS 15, which will arrive to all users in the fall.
